Update: Muggled.net Owner Apologises

Geocaching’s most hated man – well, this week anyway – has admitted defeat over his steal-a-cache website.

Earlier today, Muggled.net owner Gerald Roman contacted It’s Not About The Numbers to apologise for his “stupid idea”. “We have shut down our Off The Grid Caching and Muggled.net sites because of threats (to myself and my family) but also because we have made a mistake. We just did the site to add a twist to the game but have realised it was stupid idea.”

Police Threaten To Charge Bomb-Scare Cache Owners

Oregon geocachers may face police charges and a hefty bill in future if one of their hides is the subject of a bomb scare.

After a geocache was mistaken for a pipe bomb at Talking Water Gardens last Thursday, an Albany Police Department spokeswoman warned players of the likely consequences for hiding suspicious containers.

Muggled.net – the controversial new website encouraging players to steal geocaches and hold them ransom – has itself been muggled.
