And The World’s Fifth Weirdest Hobby Is … Geocaching?

Geo-LoveIt’s a real puzzler …

Website ChirkUp – slang for ‘cheer up’ – is now reporting that our beloved hobby ranks fifth in the world’s top 10 weirdest past-times.

Leading this ragtag band of misfit activities is fork-bending (a la self-proclaimed psychic Uri Geller), followed by collecting finger or toenail clippings in second place.

No reason is given for geocaching’s inclusion at No 5, though the caption does say: “Geocahing [sic] is becoming more and more popular. It is a modern treasure hunting and seems to be really funny!”

THE FULL TOP 10 LIST READS:

  1. Fork-bending
  2. Fingernail or toenail collection
  3. Eating inanimate objects
  4. Bedhead documentation
  5. Geocaching
  6. Ghost hunting
  7. Condom collecting
  8. Trimming and dyeing dogs into wild animals
  9. Appearing in the background on TV
  10. Knitting woollen breasts

It’s Not About The Numbers firmly disagrees, for obvious reasons. If you do too, give ChirkUp‘s post a big thumbs-down here.

Geocaching weird, I don’t think so. It combines multiple activities for me; dog walks, biking, hiking, canoeing, photography, and play with my sweetheart. What is weird about that?
