31 Days Of Caching – Day Two

Like yesterday’s effort, I set up a quick find by completing the stages of GC3EPXC Local Identity by Woody104 a number of weeks ago, which meant I could collect the final as a convenient driveby while delivering someone to the area.

Today was a little special as I had Jedi Master Zach with me. JMZ recently graduated to having his own Geocaching.com account, as did his brother Jedi Theo. Can you tell what my kids are into at present?

Zach should be familiar to all It’s Not About The Numbers readers; he’s the face on our header image (just look at the top of the screen). Graduating to his own account has meant he is considerably more motivated to go caching – convenient timing when Dad is trying to log a cache every day for a month!

As a result of today’s find, we both earned the second souvenir for Groundspeak’s 31 Days of Geocaching promotion. So far, the imagery used on the full-sized souvenir has stayed the same (albeit featuring a different number), with each day’s icon (also represented as the dates on the 31 Days calendar) being the major difference.

As noted in GC.com’s souvenir section:

“The calendar-style collectibles showcase the wildlife, scenery and tools that empower geocachers as they explore the outdoors.”

Day two depicts a tree which, of course, is the natural home for most caches!

Stayed tuned for action from day three …

On August 2, we found a fun multi-cache called Watch Out For Blue Lights (GC128F9" rel="nofollow">http://coord.info /GC128F9). It is owned by, and the first placed cache of, bigal6377 who was one of the cachers we met the day before while in the hunt for FTF (we ended up claiming 3TF). The multi was nice and easy, even in the dark, as thunder and lightning threatened all around us. The storms stayed away and never let go on us – thank goodness!
