These 37 vinyl Munzee QR codes – based on the popular Monopoly board game – were made for It’s Not About The Numbers’ kjwx by American player Ryan Rokey.

The Freeport, Illinois resident (GC and Munzee handle: Rynee) first discovered the idea in one of the Munzee forums. After creating his own Munzopoly series, which he has yet to fully deploy, he made another set for fellow player codyhollowfarm.

On the boardwalk: Wellington, New Zealand will soon have its own Munzopoly QR codes.

That led Rokey to offer his services to other Munzee fans, customising each game piece to places and landmarks that are familiar to his customers for US$30 a set.

“It’s takes me about a week and half to make them, then print and laminate them,” he says, adding that his fee only covers his printing costs and materials.

Postage is an additional US$5 (US$10 for international orders) or you can place a virtual Munzee at a location of Rokey’s choosing.

Munzopoly was developed in early 2011 by Mamapapa2 and Zalgariath, after the two players independently came up with the idea of “working a Monopoly theme” into their Munzees. More than 53 Munzopoly sets have since been placed across the globe using Zalgariath‘s artwork, though plans to create a separate Munzopoly.com website for the side-game appear to have been abandoned.

But Rokey is hoping his efforts may help revive Munzopoly. “It seems to have had a popularity that kind of fizzled out.”

His next order is for the lucky It’s Not About The Numbers reader who wins our Munzopoly giveaway. To get your name in the draw for this US$45 prize featuring both regular and Mystery Munzees, tell us how many Munzopoly cards are included in the set.

A winner will be named soon after our competition deadline of Sunday, July 6th at 12 noon (New Zealand time). Usual INATN terms and conditions apply.

*If Lady Luck’s not on your side or you don’t have the patience to wait till Wednesday, you can always order your own Munzopoly set from Ryan Rokey here.

Try contacting Ryan through his Munzee profile (Rynee); I’m sure he’d be happy to oblige.

Ryan provides a file so you can print out your own replacements but otherwise try contacting him through his Munzee profile page (Rynee).
