Even Superman couldn’t log two million geocaches in 60 seconds … but that hasn’t stopped Geocaching.com attempting the same feat in its new video, Two Million Geocaches in One Minute.

Thanks to Groundspeak, It’s Not About The Numbers fans get the first glimpse at this clip in the build-up to publication of the listing service’s two millionth hide.

“It’s our way of celebrating and showing all the geocaches that make up our community’s global phenomenon,” says PR lackey Eric Schudiske.

On Tuesday, the Seattle company will officially launch its Celebrating Two Million Active Geocaches campaign on both GC.com and its Latitude 47 blog.

Schudiske says: “People will discover a live counter that updates every 15 minutes (and some other surprises) as we roll closer to the two millionth active geocache.”

Once published, the name and location of cache No 2,000,000 will be publicly revealed. But it won’t just be that lucky hider who gets to celebrate, Schudiske hints.

“As a ‘thank you’, the geocaching community will receive a series of digital surprises for their profile. They’ll also discover a special way to thank those who hide and maintain geocaches.”

As of earlier today, there were 1,994,202 active hides on GC.com. While you wait for its numbers to tick over, check out this video teaser again …
