The clock’s ticking, people … Have you paid for your tickets to New Zealand’s first Mega event (GC35TTR) yet?
It’s less than nine weeks till the three-day gathering being held at Dunedin’s Waiora Scout Camp over Labour Weekend, and already more than 500 players – from as far away as Kuwait and the United States – have forked over the entry fee.
Among those expected at the October 19th-21st geo-bash are Groundspeak’s Jeremy Irish and Bryan Roth – not to mention It’s Not About The Numbers‘ Cumbyrocks and kjwx.
For those who have yet to sign up: Registration costs NZ$75 per individual/couple/family group, and will earn you one official NZ Mega 2012 geocoin featuring the event’s gorgeous mascot, Geofeet. Once the hard-working team at the NZ Recreational GPS Society have received your payment, you will receive a confirmation email.
But before you put that credit card away, check out this Mega ‘End Of The World’ Tour 2012 T-shirt by Groundspeak. Mimicking those popular concert shirts, its design features an Indiana Jones-style temple, gold-filled chest, skulls and flaming torches. On the back, you’ll find a list of Mega events - like GC35TTR.
The black, unisex T-shirt comes in sizes Small to XXL, and is priced at A$29.50 or NZ$45. It’s available through local vendor KiwiCachers or Australian retailer Geostuff, though the Seattle company’s Geocaching Store is currently sold out of this design.
Don’t forget to sign up for Groundspeak’s new CX4882 Meet A Lackey worldwide challenge either. This requires players to submit a photo of themselves with a Groundspeak staffer at its Lilypad HQ in Seattle or at any geo-event.
