I’ve laughed at these every time … until my current holiday. Using a 6 year old edition of a Metrogu*de map we’ve had a few ‘GPS Special’ trips around the back lanes of the UK. For some reason ‘best time ‘algorithm may include 1-lane roads with high hedgerows or high stone walls, where meeting another car means someone has to reverse! Problem is, in a strange location, with NO sense of the lay-of-the-(local)-land, you often have to follow that magic box nearly blindly. Yes, we went through a small ford as well. I loathe the micro-roads around Bath!!
LOL, reminds me of an episode of Top Gear where similar shenanigans occurred. The real question – did you still manage to find some good caches along the way?
I’m not in the same league as the super-cachers, but have managed to average 1 or 2 per day. Added nicely to the list of countries that I’ve cached in!
